Harry Potter & Guitar Hero Eric Clapton to play College cricket team

Harry Potter actor Daniel Radcliff and Guitar God Eric Clapton are among celebrities set to play a cricket game against St Lawrence College, not in Hogswart but in Kent,England. The match will be to raise money for the charity, Children in Need.

Its my guess that Harry Potter will use his wizardry to beguile the St Lawrence College guys with some reverse swing drawing from his Chamber of Secrets. His deliveries will baffle like a Sorcerer’s Stone and at his fastest, a Goblet of Fire. The batsmen will no doubt feel like they are mere mortals from Muggles.

To the guitar what Tendulkar is to the bat, Guitar God and Rock Legend Eric Clapton will probably stroke the ball like it were his guitar, caressing strokes through the gaps like a Rohan Kanhai. Clapton who has been known to evoke “Tears in Heaven” with his guitar playing will probably revel in batting under the lights, as he delights in being called “Midnight Rider”, “Forever Man” and is usually “Wonderful Tonight”.

The St Lawrence College team will get some magical help to play against the Guitar God and Wizard, as cricket stars Michael Vaughan, Andrew Flintoff, Ronnie Irani, Darren Gough and Steve Harmison will join the St Lawrence College team.

The match – date to be announced – was arranged by owner of Planet Rock radio station Malcolm Bluemel, whose son goes to St Lawrence and is an avid cricket player.
Razorlight’s Johnny Borrell, comedian Rory Bremner and former soccer player Ian Wright are Clapton’s and Radcliff’s team,Bunbury.
