At the moment 5 USA Universities Regionals are planned. A Canadian Universities and Colleges Championship is also in the works.

ACC VP Nino DiLoreto explained,”The dates for the Regionals have a bit of flexibility to them. Since this is the first year, we have to be cognizant of some players’ and teams’ commitments to Leagues’ playoffs they may be in. Or the availability of grounds.”

ACC President Jodah added, “We use the Bruce Lee maxim in planning, “Be like water”. We have not named all the teams as we are still in the process of assisting in the creation of many which hope to participate. After appropriate club registrations we will announce the new teams.
This is not just about having tournaments, its about the establishment of structures that benefit American and Canadian cricket in the long run.”

As intended,a direct result of the participation of York University in the 2010 American College Cricket Spring Break Championship has been the revival of cricket in Universities in Canada. “We invited Canadian Universities to the American College Cricket Championship as part of our plan to motivate development of college cricket in the USA & Canada. Now 2 0f Canada’s biggest Universities,Queens and McGill University have joined ACC. We have an excellent working relationship with Cricket Canada’s 1st VP Ravin Moorthy that is wonderful for young Canadian cricketers” ACC President Lloyd Jodah said. ” and we are pleased that plans are proceeding for a major Canadian Universities’ Championship.”

The West Coast Regionals will likely be held at Woodley Fields as a show of support for that Complex.
Just recently a proposal to reduce the number of fields at the Woodley Complex had to be fought back – fortunately ACC Advisory Board member, cricket historian & USA cricket pioneer P David Sentance mobilised, showed up at the Council Meeting, and did what needed to be done to almost singlehandedly (with a bit of assistance from American College Cricket) save Woodley Fields for cricket.
USC’s Arvin Varma (also ACC Advisry Board member) and the USC Trojans Cricket Club will play key roles in the ACC West Coast College Regionals.
