Long Island City High School leads all schools in the NYC Public Schools Athletic League (PSAL) Cricket, being undefeated with 9 wins.

FDR High School has 8 wins, 0 losses and John Adams High 7 wins with no losses.

Last year LIC made it to the Finals where they lost in a nail-biting finish to Brooklyn’s FDR High School led by star 2011 MVP Jazeb Tariq.

Lehman High almost spoiled LIC’s undefeated streak in a nail-biting finish at the picturesque Baisley Park South after Lehman restricted LIC to 105 total runs, but then failed to seize the opportunity for the “big” win.

Martin Van Buren, with top batsman Amarnauth Persaud, has won 7 games, but lost 2.

Runs feast continues during week six as Lehman High’s Saiful Hasan scored his first century (112) of the season against Bronx Science HS, while Martin Van Buren’s Tajinder Singh slamed his first unbeaten century (108*) against Newcomers Hgh School, whilst his teammate Amarnauth Persaud scored 69.

Syed Islam fell five runs (95) short of his first century and lead wicket taker, Taher Miah of Clinton HS thumped William Bryant HS by 9 wickets at Kissena Park on Saturday, May 12th.

Hat-trick:  Dhanraj Hansraj (3 wickets, 3 runs allowed) – Richmond Hill HS

Five wicket haul:

  1.  Keifer Phill (5 wickets) – HS of Construction
  2.  Naquarn Charlemagne (5 wickets, 23 runs allowed) – Prospects Heights
