The first T20 International games played on U.S. soil is now over, and it was nothing short of tempting. These games gave U.S. fans a real show and left all of us yearning for more. Despite some negatives which involved the wicket and a smaller turnout, it was nothing short of spectacular.

In the final game between Sri Lanka and New Zealand, Sri Lanka had their revenge. The high scores for the game included an exciting innings for Perera who had 24 and balanced scoring throughout with Dilshan having the high of 33 and Jayawardene with 17. It was a game we can all build our enthusiasm around for the growth of Cricket in the U.S..

The Pearls Cup, a time to remember.

Half Time
The last and final day of the Pearls Cup is upon us. It is an obvious bitter sweet moment, but one to be remembered for years to come. The crowd attending was not as vibrant as yesterday, but there was still a supporting turnout. New Zealand won the toss and elected to bat.
The wicket posed great problems for the batsmen with short balls keeping low and the pitch playing all sorts of ways. In the second over, Kulasekara demolished the top order by sending three batsmen back to the tent (Redmond-LBW, McCullum-bowled, Nicol-LBW). Then Matthews got Ross Taylor by LBW the following over.
Wickets were falling fast. The New Zealand skipper did spark some interest with two reverse sweeps back to back for four. But, in the end the New Zealand team put up a meek total of 81 runs all out in the 18th over. This total might still be a challenge for Sri Lanka to match due to the wicket condition, but we’ll have to find out.
