All Star Weekend Nov 20 & 21 at Moosa Stadium !
Nov 20 & 21, Sat & Sun we will have our All Star Weekend. It will be 2 matches on Sat and 1 or 2 on Sunday to be decided later. Usually our All Star Weekends are USA vs Canada but this one will drawn from our Alumni and Students. This will be our 3rd All Star Weekend hosted at Moosa Stadium in Houston – on both previous occasions USA defeated Canada 3-0 in tightly fought games, 2017 the Captain was Saurabh Netravalkar (Cornell), now USA’s Captain. In 2019 our Captain was Neel Patel (South Alabama). We’ve also played 3 South West Championships there.
Since we last played there Sakhi Mohammed has greatly enhanced Moosa Stadium, including adding a broadcast studio for commentators, and in-house multi-camera set up as Lloyd saw on a visit a month ago. All matches will be Live Streamed with David Sentance & Lloyd Jodah commentating. Lloyd is USA’s most experienced commentator & has done over 120 games, including on ESPN & SONY. Sentance has commentated about 60, including ESPN & SONY.
So far in our All Star Weekends, we’ve had 2 centuries scored by Krithik Udayshankar (FIT) 101*, and Meetul Patel (Everest) 1018, both among our greatest innings ever and scored in Canada. At Moosa itself : Yug Rao (Canadian College Cricket) scored a century also. In the Jan 2019 Series Neel Patel (South Alabama) scored heavily, including an unbroken 150 Opening partnership with Krithik. Nitant Kakar (Everest) top bowler in Jan 2019 will return. Saurabh Netravalkar (Cornell) was top bowler in Jan 2017.
