Leaders at 3 of our member clubs Harvard’s Ibrahim Khan, Boston University’s Hayat Khan & Princeton’s Shaffin Fattah led the charge and played the most games as we continued the American College Cricket Home & Away games begun in late Spring. Our newest members Bryant U, Dartmouth, and MIT got to make their American College Cricket debut outside the pressure cooker of a Regional Championship !
HOME & AWAY CHAMPION – Harvard captain Ibrahim Khan was determined to graduate as Champion in the inaugural year of Home & Away league, accomplished his goal by heading the Standings by a considerable margin, playing 12 official games (practically like a football season), earning 94 points, with a .500 record. This was facilitated by the club getting use of Jordan Field, Harvard’s field hockey venue, with lights, enabling night games.
# 2 – Northeastern Huskies, with 65 points after 6 games. To host games, they too were given access to the college’s Bernard & Jolane Solomon Track & Field venue.
# 3 – Boston University had 7 games, with 5 wins & 2 losses & finished with 58 points, acquiring a Home field, New Balance Field during the season.
# 4 – Princeton University played 7 games, with 4 wins & 3 losses, finishing on 53 points. They play their Home matches on their college’s 2 football practice fields

Home & Away MVP
Ibrahim Khan (Harvard) was a true American College Cricket MVP, topping the bowling & batting aggregates, and off the field getting playing facilities (Jordan Field) for the Club, initiating efforts to get a sponsor, Hit Wicket Bar & Restaaurant, & being a major force in the expansion of Home & Away games in New England – which in turn led to a major article in the Boston Globe.
# 2 man Maeez Veqar (Drexel) followed in the footsteps of his older brother, Naufal who played for Boston University in the first years of American College Cricket.

In April 2013 we began playing “Home & Away” games, & this has continued in the Fall semester. The Standings can be seen on our website, by clicking on the Crichq tile. Played by college clubs which are members of American College Cricket all over the USA & Canada,and meant to be like the college football & college basketball seasons. From 2014, all clubs must play a minimum number of Home & Away games to qualify to play in the Regional Championships, or the Nationals.

By playing Home & Away games, our clubs at Harvard, Princeton, Boston University & Northeastern quickly earned fields on campus to play Home games. However, until that happens for your club, you can host Home games at a nearby cricket field.

Princeton finished the year ranked 4 out of 23 colleges. 5 Princeton players are ranked in Top 20 bowlers – Yogesh (No. 6), Vijit (No. 12), Jehangir (No. 13), Naman (No. 16) and Shafin (No. 20). 4 Princeton players are ranked in Top 20 batsmen – Jenangir (No. 12), Vijit (No. 13), Ryan (No. 14) and Vaidhy (No. 17). 5 Princeton cricketers are ranked in Top 20 MVP – Jehangir (No. 9), Vijit (No. 10), Yogesh (No. 13), Naman (No. 17) and Sudhir (No. 18).
