Home & Away matches continued into November as American College Cricket celebrated its 5th birthday ! Dartmouth College & Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) played their first matches as American College Cricket members – MIT debuting with a Super Over finish !
Northeastern Huskies became the 4th team in the North East to get their own Home field, following Harvard, Princeton, & Boston University. In the South East the Gators got approval for a pitch, even as they played their first Home & Away match (vs Embry Riddle) !
Meanwhile President Lloyd Jodah celebrated American College Cricket’s 5th anniversary by meeting with the New York Yankees’ Derek Jeter !
HARVARD vs BRYANT U : Visiting team Bryant University batted first, and 57* by Akshay Poonia, in 40 balls and 55 in 33 by Aman Parikh got the Bulldogs to 170 for 4 in 20 overs.Ibrahim Khan took 2 for 28.
Harvard got the winning runs in 13.4 thanks to an onslaught by Vivek Jayaram who mauled the Bulldogs bowlers for 116* in 52 balls with 19 fours & 5 sixes. Harvard captain Ibrahim Khan played a knock like Rohan Kanhai in the first World Cup, for 41*.

NORTHEASTERN vs HARVARD : Visitors Northeastern Huskies piled up 210 for 9 behind a smashing century by Prathmesh Jakkanwar (107*, 12 fours & 8 sixes) The next highest scorer mahe 14 ! Particularly considering the havoc wreaked by Jakkanwar’s bat, Danny Yetman’s 3 for 18 was impressive.
In response Harvard Crimson made 189 for 8 with Manik Kuchroo topscoring with 51. Tyagi made 34 and Yetman 26 run out.

PRINCETON vs RUTGERS – This was a low scoring match as Rutgers only managed 80 all out after a good opening partnership of 35 between Kevern Fresner 21 & DivYesh Gandhi 20 !
Naman Jain took 3 for 18 and had a run out, Yogesh Goyal took 2 for 17.
Ryan Edwards 37 and Vaidhy Murti 27 got Princeton close and the tigers won. Jain was the MVP

PRINCETON vs RUTGERS – In the 2nd game of the Double-header Princeton made 108 for 6 in 20. Top scorer was Vijit Kapoor with 44, wicketkeeper Peter Humphries contributed 26. Rutgers’ Ehsen Wajeeh took 3 for 19.

HARVARD vs DARTMOUTH – Vivek Jayaram and Sameer Tyagi put on 181 for the 2nd wicket as Harvard amassed 259 for 2. Jayaram scored his 2nd consecutive century, 128* in 59 balls with 18 fours & 7 sixes ! Tyagi made 65 in 37 balls,7 fours & 5 sixes.
48 by Shreyansh Patel was not enough to get Dartmouth close, & Harvard won easily as Dartmouth got to 125 in 16 overs, for 9 wickets with 1 retired hurt.

NORTHEASTERN vs MASSACHUSETTS INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY (MIT) – another of our member clubs got their own Home field as Northeastern hosted MIT in a debut match for the new American College Cricket member at the Bolane & Solomon Field.
The Huskies made 154 behind 67 by Daniyal Khan, & 41 by Pranav Jagarnath, despite a devastating spell by Tugral Ali who took 5 for 13 in 4 overs with 1 maiden !
MIT was reeling at 18 for 4 thanks to 2 for 14 by Parampalli Narayan and 2 for 17 by Pratik Dudhane but 50 by Sourav Padhy coming at # 7 and 24 by Usman Ayyaz MIT tied the score, & the match went to a Super Over ! Which Northeastern won !

UNIVERSITY of PENNSYLVANIA vs DREXEL – Penn hosted Drexel and Maeez Veqar walloped 82 in 54 balls with 11 fours. Nick Mancino (Penn) was outstanding in the field with a run out & catch.
Maeez Veqar followed up his runs with wickets, taking 3 for 17 as Penn crumbled to 85 all out in a surprise loss by the Ivy League & Mid Atlantic Regional Champion.

Tennyson Samuel John’s 48 helped Embry Riddle get the winning runs in 18.1 overs for the loss of 7 wickets.UF’s Aabhi took 3 for 22, & Aravind 2 for 27.
