The National Championship XI ! Are You in ?
Here is the 2023 American College Cricket National Championship Top XI based on Statistical Performance mainly but also considering other factors. The importance of a player’s innings or Bowling spell in the context of their team’s performance is a major factor, as well as each player’s skills – for example all rounders have an edge over a player who is mainly a batsman or bowler, and we can only have 1 wicketkeeper unless a player is in as a batsman.
Since the team is based strictly on on-field stats, it does not recognize the performances of Pratik Patel in captaining PITT to winning the National Championship, nor US Marine Husnain Bashir in pulling together & leading the historic US Military team to the Final Four, nor the Club Presidents instrumental in getting the teams to Nationals.
Mayank Gangwar was top in practically every category, so we thought we could make him the Wicketkeeper too, but Ahsan Sajjad (TMU) was excellent behind the stumps, and a top batsman so he’s in., The Pacers are Uzair Siddiqui (PITT), Sam Das (ASU) and Divya Patel (ASU) as Supersub. Spinners are Mayank Gangwar (UF), Ishaan Bansal (PITT), Ravi Vats (PITT), Sancalp Dekate (ASU) and Angad Bhatia (TMU)
