Canadian Pacer Nauman Zafar (Humber) for All Stars Weekend !
The fast bowler had a very smooth run up and action and Lloyd, American College Cricket President, right away noticed. A fast bowler with a rythymic run up & action is a beautiful sight, somewhat like a horse at full gallop.This was at Moosa Stadium in Jan 2017, the American College Cricket vs Canadian College Cricket Series where Saurabh Netravalkar, another fast bowler who’s great to watch led American College Cricket to a 3-0 Series win, and went on to play for USA.
We saw a lot more of Nauman playing for Humber College in the March 2019 & 2020 American College College Cricket National Championships in Ft Lauderdale and the Oct 2019 North East Regional.
It was no surprise then, when in November 2019 Nauman Zafar (Humber College) was selected to play for Canada in the Caribbean Super50 50 overs tournament. An experience that was great for the young pacer but then the Lock downs happened, particularly tough in Canada for cricketers.
Nauman has taken 31 wickets in American & Canadian College Cricket and 153 total in cricket in various Canadian leagues including the Toronto District Cricket Association League.
Now Nauman will return to Moosa Stadium with more experience under his belt, and getting ready to play for Canada again.
