9th USA vs Canada All Stars Series, at Nationals !
Each year American College Cricket and Canadian College Cricket play a Series vs each other to celebrate the 1844 game between USA and Canada. That game marked the 1st time in history that young men from different countries battled each other on a playing field, instead of a battle field. A momentous occasion – who knows how many wars have been avoided because this new outlet for nationalistic aggression was started – International sport.
Neither the world nor cricket itself celebrates this occasion so American College Cricket began this celebration in May 2015, and every year the American College Cricket USA team plays vs the Canadian College Cricket Canada team. Some of the best players in American universities vs some of the best from Canadian universities.
Usually the Series is played in Canada in May, and USA in Jan. This year, because of the England Tour, one Series is being played, at the National Championship in Ft Lauderdale. The Dates of the All Star matches are likely to be March 13 and 15.
Currently Canada leads 4/3 with one Series in Canada having the 3rd game washed out by rain, leaving it tied. At the time we did not know of the great ICC rule of counting the boundaries.
