Canadian College Cricket Nationals begin Aug 29.
The 4th Canadian College Cricket National Championship will take place Aug 29 to 31 at King City, Ontario outside of Toronto. 12 colleges will participate including 3 American College Cricket members, Ryerson, Laurier and McGill. One month later Ryerson and Laurier will take part in the American College Cricket Midwest C’ship whilst University of Waterloo is looking to join as well.
Canadian College Cricket was founded in 2015 by Hassan Mirza and Obaid Baber with the support and mentorship of Lloyd Jodah, American College Cricket Founder and President. Accordingly the 2 organizations work closely together. The previous Champions are – U of Waterloo, Sheridan College and York University which, a long time ago, won the American College Cricket National Championship in 2010 and gave cricket in Canada, for young players, a huge boost. That was the 1st Live Stream of cricket in Canada and USA. It was shown on the Jumbotrons at Square One Mall, and seen by thousands worldwide. York University Cricket also got a huge feature in the Globe and Mail, Canada’s largest newspaper.
Matches will be scored on Cricclubs and Live Streamed in conjunction with Cricclubs and Sportstrend. You can see those Streams on American and Canadian College Cricket Facebook pages.
