5th Anniversary of our Hall of Fame launch by Chanderpaul ! 37 Inductees !
5 years ago, on Dec 13 the legendary Shiv Chanderpaul launched the American College Cricket Hall of Fame, whilst in NYC. The Hall was a natural step to honor college cricketers as the American College Cricket movement grew. Shiv himself was to be surprised 2 nights later when it was announced, and he was presented with a plaque, that he was the 1st Inductee into the Hall of Fame for his support to American College Cricket, practically from the beginning.
Present at the Press Conference was Colin Michael Jodah, Lloyd Jodah & Kayla Wilson. Tragically Colin died just over a month later. Apart from being Lloyd’s older brother and influence, Colin performed important functions behind the scenes for American College Cricket, including doing the extremely difficult tasks of making the schedules for the Championships in 2010 (47 games in 4 days, 20 teams), 2011 (67 games in 5 days, 32 teams), 2012 (54 games in 5 days,28 teams). In 2010 the schedule had to be redone 1 day before the Championships because the USA Under 19 team, invited as Special Guests, was pulled at the last minute.
The 2010 then the 2011 Championship probably established records for the largest cricket tournaments ever and would have been improbable without Colin Jodah. Colin was the 2nd Inductee in the American College Cricket (posthumously).
For the 5th Anniversary we recapped the 37 players inducted since the 1st Class of 2013, but there were also non-players inducted many years as Historical figures, Legends, administrators and supporters of American College Cricket who were not named in this recap but can be found on our website each year.
