As announced recently the following are the Dates for the American College Cricket Regional Championships, with possible locations. The location for the South East Championship is confirmed, the rest will be announced on our Facebook page in the next month or 2, when they are confirmed.

Any of our clubs that wish to host a Regional in their city must contact American College Cricket President Lloyd as soon as possible.

MID WEST – Sept 19 & 20 for the Gordon Gee Trophy – in addition to Ohio where its customarily held, Chicago and Detroit are possibilities. Defending Champion is Iowa State Cyclones – 2 time winners.

IVY LEAGUE – Sept 27 for the Colin Michael Jodah Trophy – Possible locations are the Philadelphia Cricket Club or Harvard University. The Ivy League Championship will feature the top 4 Ivies, and take place on 1 day. Defending Champion is Harvard Crimson.

NORTH EAST – Oct 10 & 11 for the Deryck Aaron Jodah Trophy – held for the past 4 years in NYC. However since most of the teams that play in the North East Regionals are from north of NYC, Boston is a possible location this year. Defending Champion is Rochester Institute of Technology Tigers.

MID ATLANTIC – Oct 17 & 18 – originally set for the DC area, this was moved to NYC, then Philly to facilitate filming for TV. Electrical power and facilities for scissor lifts were impractical in 2011 at the DC area fields. Ernie Precious and the British Officers Cricket Club have been impeccable hosts so this will be held in PA or the DC area. Defending Champion is UMBC Retrievers.

SOUTH EAST – Nov 7 & 8 – As usual the side fields of CBRP will be used. These fields hold special meaning as it is where American College Cricket had its first tournament, the 2009 American College Cricket Spring Break Championship which made the New York Times and began to give real hope for the game in the US. Defending Champion is Univ of South Florida Bulls (2 time winners and 2014 National Champion).Nov 7 is the birthday of American College Cricket Founder & President Lloyd Jodah so this Regional will be an occasion for extra celebration.

WEST COAST – Nov 28 & 29 – Thanksgiving Weekend will see American College Cricket games at Compton’s Jackie Robinson Stadium and other LA – area fields. Its possible a team or teams may come from as far north as British Columbia.

The first cricket match in Compton, famous for hip hop stars like Snoop Dogg, Tupac, NWA, Dr Dre etc, was an American College Cricket match played last fall, UCLA vs Claremont Colleges at Jackie Robinson Stadium.

SOUTH WEST – no dates yet – With a jam-packed fall schedule, its probable the South West Regional will be played in Feb, as it was last season. The Smart Choice Moosa Stadium, and HCL fields were wonderful and Sakhi Mohammad a very gracious host. This year this Regional might return to Dallas where we did the 2013 South West Regional. Defending Champion is Univ of Texas Dallas Comets, 2015 National Champion.

IMPORTANT – All clubs that have Facebook pages should be maintaining their pages in a proper manner. Your FB Page is a reflection of your club, and if its not active in a positive way, it will NOT help you get support from your college or sponsors. Do NOT allow equipment merchants to post on your page. Being on Summer Break should not be an excuse for a badly maintained Page – Facebook is available whereever you are.

Post American College Cricket articles & Facebook status and photos to keep your page active, & its followers engaged. This will be a factor in determining eligibility for Regionals & Nationals.
