New National Rankings ! Where’s your College ?
Here are the Top 33 colleges in the American College Cricket Power Rankings (out of over 70), as of Dec 5, 2014 :
Power Rankings are based on what a Club contributes, on & off the field, to American College Cricket’s Mission of “Bringing back the Original American & Canadian Game” :
1 – Position in previous Ranking* published July 4th (Full criteria published at bottom of page).
2 – Playing in the National Championship is valued most; then playing in Regional/Ivy League Championships & Home & Away matches. Special weight is given to the top 3 in Home & Away matches, to encourage more play through out the school year.
3 – Promotion of American College Cricket in social media (Facebook, Twitter etc) , in media (college & external),& other general raising of the profile of American College Cricket.
4 – Points to teams that have a field to play Home games on campus, or other facilities such as indoor practice space on campus.
5 – Extra Points for Clubs that played in all 3 categories: 1- Nationals 2 – Regionals 3 – Home & Away (more than 10 matches) this year. Clubs registered for the postponed South West Championship get credit as if they played.
A Disciplinary issue or conduct not in the “Spirit of Cricket” by a player or the club always negatively impact your club’s Rank, by increments of -5, -10, -15 etc depending on the severity of the issue.
