HARVARD Crimson vs BOSTON U Terriers
Sat April 26 at Harvard
We’ve had many thrilling games in American College Cricket and this one is right up there with the most exciting ! After losing their inform batsman Arush Sabharwal for a duck Boston recovered behind Danial Salman’s 77, supported by Hayat Khan 29 and Shaunak Ramchander’s 26 and finished with 191 for 6.
A formidable total but the Harvard batting was in superb form, and 2 batsmen had already scored centuries this season ! When Jayaram & Kuchroo came toger at 60 for 2 after 6.3 overs, Boston could easily have given up but Kuchroo was soon gone for 18 and Jayaram bowled for 37 ! at 106 for 5 in 11.2 overs, behind the required run rate, and with the batting mainly gone, it looked dim for Harvard !
But Danny Yetman took over smashing 4 fours & 2 sixes and suddenly Harvard, with nearly 5 overs and 47 runs to get, looked like they would get the win ! But then Yetman was run out for 30 ! 2 quick wickets and at 145 for 7 Boston was in control again, but Humayun Irshad’s 2 fours & 2 sixes got Harvard to 190 for 9, losing by 1 run !
BU’s Danial Salman was MVP https://www.crichq.com/#matches/132207
MIT Engineers vs BABSON COLLEGE Beavers
Sunday April 27 at MIT
Mit batted first, and it was practically all Fahad Mahmood., who made a record breaking 169*, in 74 balls 10 fours and 17 sixes ! Babson gave it their best with Harnaresh Singh making 53 and Nabeel Khan 44* but fell well short with 188 for 7.
