In March 2010 American College Cricket became the first in USA & Canada to webstream, when it streamed the Semis & Finals of the 2010 American College Cricket Spring Break Championship.
York College, UMBC, University of South Florida & York University were the first teams to be broadcasted. In March 2011 American College Cricket streamed 6 more games.
In October 2011 American College Cricket was the first in USA & Canada, to TELEVISE cricket, when TV Asia broadcasted SIX (6) games, the Semis & Finals of the American College Cricket Northeast & Mid Atlantic regionals in NYC. Rutgers, NYU-Poly, Ryerson U, NJIT, Penn State, York College & UMBC were the pioneering teams.
March 2012 the Semis & Finals of the American College Cricket National Championship was televised on TV Asia from the CBRP Cricket Stadium in Florida.
Another major first was Coca Cola & Dish Network becoming sponsors of American College Cricket – the first time major American companies had become involved in domestic cricket.
American College Cricket President Lloyd Jodah continues developing teams in universities all across USA & Canada,and new schools are being added regularly. If your college does not have a cricket club & you wish to start one contact Lloyd.
Currently a full college cricket season is being televised by TV Asia – an American College Cricket game is shown every Saturday at 7 pm.
The Semis & Finals of the Nationals will be televised by TV Asia – the dates for the 2013 American College Cricket National Championship are March 13 – 17. It will be played at the ICC ODI Certified CBRP Cricket Stadium near Ft Lauderdale Florida, & nearby fields for the Chanderpaul Trophy.The Semis & Finals will be televised by TV Asia. March 12 will be available for practice.
28 teams from Canada & USA will participate in the 2012 National Championship plus this time an American College Cricket Alumni team may play as “Special Guests”.
More than 60 colleges are now members of American College Cricket and having tournaments is only a small part of what we do – its important to understand this if you wish to be a member.
We have been covered by the New York Times, Washington Post,Canada’s Globe & Mail, LA Daily News, NY Daily News,Voice of America & more. We have been part of the historic Cricket Exhibition at the National Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown.
