Great News for Alumni !
It’s graduation time and once again many of our players will leave their colleges and move to different parts of the country, and the world.
Like in football & basketball, we expect they will remain supporters and fans of their teams and American College Cricket. The alumni fan base is huge for colleges all over the US, in every sport and we must bring the same fervour to college cricket.
This was one of the reasons why we’ve allowed 2 alumni to play on our teams (where permissible by school rules).
Last March, two Texas Tech alumni, Baiju Shah and Rahul Chahda gave financial support to help their former team get to the Nationals.
Another alum, Auburn’s Rahul Potghan is now the IT Director for American College Cricket.
Kalpesh Patel, University of Miami graduate, now doing his Master’s at Columbia, last semester worked on a project for us, for credit. This semester he set up another project for us by Columbia students.
An alumni from Thunderbird School of Global Management, Sameer Bhatija coincidentally was the Dish Network Marketing Manager who came to our recent Championship. Sameer played in 2011. Dish was a supporting sponsor of the American College Cricket nationals.
The easiest way to show your support as an alumni is to post AmericanCollegeCricket.com articles on Facebook, Twitter & Google +.
PLAYING OPPORTUNITIES for ALUMNI in the future :
– a team comprised of American College Cricket alumni will be allowed to particpate in any of our Regionals as “Special Guests”. The team can be comprised of former students from any of our schools.
– we will consider having an Alumni team play as “Special Guests” at the 2013 Spring Break Championship – contact Lloyd
– Philadelphia International Cricket Festival : the Festival is played on the historic fields of Philadelphia. Next year we will enter a just-for-fun team, of which Lloyd Jodah will be Captain. Other special invitees will include David Sentance.
If you’d like to be considered for this team, contact Lloyd, Dogevpr2@aim.com . Each member will pay their own expenses.
– we will continue to allow 2 alumni to play in each XI (subject to school rules).
