NYPD Cricket ends another great season for Ray Kelly Trophy!

KosseimA young cricket player in New York City has a plethora of opportunities to play, and one of the most important is the NYPD United cricket league – smartly directed at involving young men,15 to 19, with a cricket playing background. There were 12 teams in this years tournament.
NYC Police Commissioner Ray Kelly is actively involved, attending the Opening and Closing games and Ceremonies. Commssioner Kelly is often seeking feedback on what I think of the NYPD United Cricket League since we first met in 2009, and also expresses an avid interest in American College Cricket, and the opportunities it presents.
This year, the Stallions won, led by Jazeb Tariq, who has now captained 3 teams this season to Championships, the NYC High school, the Mayor’s Cup and the NYPD !

The 2009 Champions were Lycans, whilst Superstars took the huge Trophy in 2010, defeating the Stallions.
Superstars’ top players Kavishwar Bridgepaul and Andy Mohammed were no longer eligible for the tournament because of age.
