Playoffs ? Don’t talk about Playoffs ! NYC High Schools down to Super 8 !
The Quarter Finals of the NYC High SChools Cricket Leagues (properly titled PSAL cricket ) took place these past 3 days, bringing this year’s exciting competition down to the Super 8’s.
As usual New York City is leading the USA in progressiveness – where are the schools’ cricket leagues in other areas ? NJ ? CA ?
Richmond Hill High School beat DeWitt Clinton High School
Hillcrest HS beat Sheepshead Bay HS
Franklin D Roosevelt beat John Adams HS
Newcomers HS beat Midwood HS(on runrate after rain intervened). Deprojit Dey 50* for Newcomers HS
Aviation HS beat Brooklyn International HSon runrate bec of rain
Franklin Lane HS upset 2nd seed Van Buren HS
Lehman HS beat Lafayett HS 165 to 155 in a run feast.
Bryant HS beat Abe Lincoln HS
On to the Super 8’s.Two of Super 8″s matches have been played :
Lehman HS defeated Lane HS
Bryant HS defeated Franklin D Roosevelt HS
Lehman HS is from the Bronx, but the other schools left standing are all from Queens.
The Finals will be this Sunday, June 6, at the beautiful and picturesque Gateway Park in Brooklyn, near JFK Airport. There is ample parking.
