University of the West Indies takes close win over Montgomery in final over !
Danish Ashgar stroked the ball delightfully whilst Sadiq Naseer blasted it to give Montgomery College a great start in their game against the visiting University of the West Indies. Ashgar hit 5 fours in his 25, whilst Naseer clobbered 5 fours and a six.
Ankit Sehgal kept it going with 3 fours and 2 ferocious sixes in his 49. Montgomery’s 50 came in 5 overs and 100 in the 11th over. Bhatti played second fiddle until Sehgal went down the wicket for a big hit and was stumped.
Then Bhatti took over, pummelling the bowling for 21 runs in one over. Bhatti’s 60* included 4 fours and 3 mighty sixes to take Montgomery to 187 for 3 off 20 overs.
Ladiwala struck early for MC but Captain Bhatti, who usually opened the bowling, could not bowl because of an injury.
Yearwood 60* ( 3 fours,5 sixes) and Arthe 68*(6 fours,2 sixes) attacked the bowling and MC’s bowlers couldn’t stop them. An excitingly close victory came for the West Indies in the last over with a 4 by Yearwood.
Wali Syed and Adil Bhatti took two amazing catches as the Montgomery fielding was great as usual.
