The first Team to arrive on Monday for the 2010 American College Cricket Spring Break Championship was the University of the West Indies, accompanied by former Test player Roland Bucher, their Athletic Director.
Next in was the College of Wooster, having made the journey by road. Despite the long road trip the guys made arrangements for practise the next day, then went to check out the sights of Ft Lauderdale and South Beach.
As our First President George Washington was a cricket player, it’s only apt that George Washington University (GWU) should be in the Championship, and they too came early to get valuable practise. The first night though their focus was on enjoying the other aspects of Spring Break, like hitting the pool.
The guys of Auburn University came in the wee hours of the morning and announced that the War Eagles have landed. Practise today for everyone, and maybe some Beach time. The War Eagles are also going to get their colored cricket pants today, otherwise the Team might be going pantless.
Everyone is eager to tour the Cricket Stadium at the Central Broward Regional Park today and get in some practise.
