India in Florida Dates & Tickets Info !

IndiaOver 1 Billion people may watch the India vs Pakistan World Cup game this Saturday on TVs, computers and phones, many American College Cricket players past and present are in England to see the game in person but for most Indian cricket fans in USA their opportunity to see the Indian team in action in person will be August 3 and 4th, 2019. Those are the Dates confirmed weeks ago and now made public that India will play vs West Indies in 2 T20 matches outside Ft Lauderdale at Broward County Stadium.

The Broward Park has been used since 2009 by American College Cricket, and received worldwide publicity that year when the New York Times covered the first American College Cricket Championship, in its American and International editions and Indian media picked it up. American College Cricket then did the first webstream in USA in March 2010, then TV in 2011 then an ESPN broadcast in March 2014. The past 3 years SONY has televised the American College Cricket National Championship from the Stadium.

The matches will be morning games, as in 2016, to suit the peak TV times in India – probably start times will be 10 am. Tickets go on Sale on June 24 on the West Indies Cricket website WindiesCricket.com.

2016 was the first time India visited USA, when they played West Indies and narrowly lost the 1 game that was played, with the 2nd game being cancelled due to rain, even though the Indian Captain M.S Dhoni wanted to play.

Sadly BCCI General Manager Dr Sridhar who handled operations in 2016 for the USA tour, died the following year. This trip happens with West Indies as host with Worldwide Sports Management managing the logistics at the Stadium, as part of their responsibility for bringing International cricket to the Stadium. Last July West Indies played Bangladesh as part of that agreement, and American College Cricket President Lloyd Jodah was Event Manager.
