The 11th season of the NYPD Cricket came to an end with a thrilling match between NY Dragons and Hillside Hurricanes in Queens NYC.Dragons made only 103 batting first, and Hurricanes was cruising to a victory when a direct throw ran out a batsman and started a remarkable comeback by Dragons. Arvin took 2 wickets in the 19th over and MVP Parsram bowled a devastating final over when, with 8 runs needed and 7 wickets dow, he took the last 3 wickets to give NY Dragons the title.

Interestingly, most of the players on the Dragons were on the John Adams High School team which won the NYC PSAL High School C’ship 6 weeks before, and similarly the Hillside Hurricanes comprised students from Jamaica High which lost to John Adams in the Finals.

The New York Police Dept completely manages the tourament, providing uniforms, transportation, balls, umpires, fields in an awesome Community Relations initiative that actually does a lot of good for the game as well. NYC is the only major city in USA that has continuous organized cricket for young players from Spring through Summer.
