High School Player Alix Hussein & Coach of the Year Alex Navarette !

Wingate Award winner for Cricketer of the Year Alix Hussein, & PSAL Coach of the Year Alex Navarette receiving Awards from Bassett Thompson, PSAL Cricket Commissioner

In the Public Schools Athletic Leaague (PSAL) Awards function last night, Captain of the 2018 Champion John Adams High School, Alix Hussein won the Wingate Award for Top cricket player of the Year, and Coach Alex Navarette won Coach of the Year from among all 33 Sports in the PSAL.

It was the 2nd year in a row that Alix had Bradman like stats, averaging over 100 with the bat. He made the Finals in all 4 years of High School, and Captained the team to an undefeated season this year, and the Championship.

Coach Navarette knew nothing about cricket when he began coaching 11 years ago but after this year’s title run, he has coached John Adams to 8 Finals in 11 years, and 3 Championships !

Both of them will be in action of Monday when the Mayor’s Cup match will be played amongst the League’s All Stars.
