UT DALLAS vs UH Clearlake
UT Dallas batted first & got a good start from Ashwin Kannan, 24 and Jafaar Shabuddin, 15 . It was slow going on a very slow outfield but Tanvesh Namnail & Kannan took the score to 61 off 10.5 overs before the wickets began tumbling. Bangera 18 and Extras 23 helped UTD Comets get to 111 in their 20 overs. Katta & Mutyala took 2 wickets each for UH Clearlake Hawks.
UHCL openers Daggupati and Praveen Kumar dug in to get their team off to a good start before Daggupati 15 went at at 26 off 5 overs. Kumar 28, Katta 16 and SaiKrishna fought fiercely to get close dogged by the bowling of pacer Tanvesh Namnaik who took 4 for 16. The game came down to an exciting finish, as so many American College Cricket matches do, 14 for UHCL to win but only 1 wicket to go !
2 runs were scored off the 1st ball, but then Nekkanti bowled the last batsman Kumar and UT Dallas was through to the Finals ! UTD’s Namnaik was the match MVP !

UT Arlington vs UH Cougars
UT Arlington ,last year’s South West Champion, batted first and Rahul Rao 26, Likith Gowda 26 and Kawadeya 21 got the Mavericks to 113 in 18 overs, for 9 wickets. Thobani 3 for 31 wrapped up the tail whilst Ranganathan, Ambre and Nawaz taking 2 each, Nawaz getting 2 early wickets, and Ranganathan bowled a very tight effective spell getting 2 for 9 in 4.
UH Cougars response began disastrously losing 4 wickets for 7 runs in the 3rd over ! Good fielding by UTA with 2 run outs did a lot of the damage but the UT Arlington bowlers kept it tight too. Cougars never recovered and crumbled to 54 all out in 12.1 overs. Madhavan took the final wickets, 3 for 6 in just 1.1 over, Asokan 2 for 17 as UT Arlington got an easy win to cruise into another South West Final, to face UT Dallas next week on SONY Entertainment Television and SLING !.
