Harvard allrounders, & this week’s centurions, Vik Jayaram & Manik Kuchroo

This 3rd weekend of the 2014 Home & Away season saw some good weather, and some big scores ! Two batsmen scored centuries, Harvard’s Vik Jayaram and Manik Kuchroo.

It was the 3rd century for Jayaram in American College Cricket – no other batsman has more than 1 ! Kuchroo is the new Captain of Harvard.
Benefits from playing Home & Away games continue to accrue – Drexel now has permission to play on their football field, and will play a game vs University of Pennsylvania this Friday, under lights !
BOSTON terriers vs DARTMOUTH Green
 
Dartmouth batted first and made 130 for 9 in 20 overs. The Terriers’ Shaunak Ramchander took 3 for 16 with his off spin. Ramchander then put a stranglehold on the MVP Award by making 60*, putting on an opening partnership of 73 with Haayt Khan,30. Boston U cruised to an easy win with 134 for 2 in 13.3 overs.http://www.crichq.com/matches/127037
NORTHEASTERN Huskies vs BABSON Beavers
Northeastern batted first and put up a very good total of 173 for 7 with Sohil Gandhi making 65 runs.Beavers’ Captain Shreyas Gupta took 3 wickets for 30.
Babson then had consistent scoring from nearly all of their batting to get the winning run on the penultimate ball ! Vibhav Dandha topscoring with 34*.

HARVARD Crimson vs BRYANT Bulldogs
Harvard batted first, and at 26 for 3 it looked bad for the Crimson. Agarwal taking the wickets of 2013 top scorer Ibrahim Khan and Norris Guscutt. 12 oversl ater when the next wicket fell, Harvard was 202 for 4 and its Captain Manik Kuchroo was walking back with a century, 109 in 44 balls under his belt.
Vik Jayaram went on to score his 3rd century in American College Cricket, 122 in 53 balls – he is the only batsman to have multiple centuries in American College Cricket 5 year history.
The Bulldogs had an excellent response, making 192 for 7 in 20 overs but Harvard’s total was just too much. Danny Yetman took 4 for 30.

PRINCETON Tigers vs CORNELL Bears Double Header
Game 1 – Cornell batted first and made 125 for in their 20 overs, Madhur Srivastava topscored with 34.Princeton’s Devansh Gupta took 3 for 28.
Only a 37 run partnership between Wicketkeeper Peter Humphries, 25 and Ahsan Mehmood 16 gave the Tigers a chance, but they fell short, making 112 for 8 in 20.
Bears’ Rajendran scored 30 and took 2 for 24 to earn the MVP Award.http://www.crichq.com/matches/127282
GAME 2 : Cornell again batted first and Rajendran was again among the runs making 33 whilst Nandkishore Sathiamoorthy topscored with 41 run out. Devansh Gupta took 3 wickets for 25 runs.
The Tigers struggled and didn’t threaten Cornell’s total, only making 114 for 7 off 20 overs.
