The Aggies got a solid start of 59 from Ankush Kothalkar 33, & Adhithya Rengarajan 23 but an excellent spell by leg spinner Srikanth Chalamal, 3 for 13 plus some excellent fielding by South Alabama, aided by bad running between the wickets by A & M resulting in 4 run outs,

and Texas was dismissed for 129 in 19.2 overs.

Chalamala was MVP http://www.crichq.com/matches/75938#inning-1

ARKANSAS STATE vs TEXAS TECH – Pranav Patel’s 51 run out, & captain Divya Patel’s 30 got the Arkansas State Red Wolves to 149 for 6 in 20.

TEXAS A & M vs  ARKANSAS STATE – Good top order scoring by the Aggies’ Adhitya Ragarajan 52, Anand Ghatty 39* & Ankush Kothalkar 38 got  Texas A & M to 164 for 3 in 17 overs.

Then a proceedural error by the Umpires & captains, in reducing overs & calculating a wrong “Duckworth-Lewis” total – Crichq was NOT used as it should have been resulted in ASU being set a target which they got (nor was the tournament manager consulted).

This was hard luck for the Texas A & M team, and would have been avoided had the situation been referred  to Lloyd before the teams  agreed to the total set by the umpires. Umpires’ deciions are final on the field, but reduction of overs must be referred toTournament Manager (Lloyd) & Duckworth-Lewis calculations must come from Crichq.

However the Texas A & M captain Raheel Zubairy & team displayed admirable “Spirit of Cricket” in accepting the end result and are great examples of how any sport should be played.

Aggies’ Adhitya Regarajan was the MVP http://www.crichq.com/matches/76015#inning-1
