American College Cricket Hall of Fame nominee Adil Bhatti has signed a full equipment sponsorship deal with Hammer Cricket for 1 year !

When Jason Mellet reached out to American College Cricket President Lloyd Jodah and said he would “like to be involved” with the organisation, Lloyd looked at what Jason was doing and welcomed the offer.

Jason Mellet, from South Africa now based in Texas, runs Cricket Store Online and more uniquely, has started an American-born brand for cricket equipment, especially bats- Hammer Cricket.

Jason flew to Ft Lauderdale for Championship Sunday, and was introduced to Adil Bhatti by Lloyd.

After leading Montgomery College to the first American College Cricket National Championship in 2009, Bhatti became America’s most well-known cricketer – being featured in the NY Times, the Washington Post & more. In 2011 Bhatti was invited to the National Baseball Hall of Fame for the opening of the historic Exhibit, “Swinging Away – how Cricket and Baseball connect.”

Mellet said, “As an American-born brand, Hammer Cricket is looking to invest in the future of American cricket. What better way to do that than with players like Adil who have come through the American College Cricket system and excelled “

Lloyd Jodah said, “Adil has been a worthy Ambassador of American College Cricket from the time he led Montgomery College to winning the first Chanderpaul Trophy – both on and off the field. Learning along the way, he has received unprecedented mainstream media attention for a cricketer in the US, and has handled his success well. Hammer’s sponsorship is another example of how our relationships benefit our players.”

As usual Adil was humble, “I started playing hardball in 2005, a lot of people help me improve and still do. American College Cricket presented a major platform in 2009, that showcased my talent. It has become my favorite tournament and I love what it is doing for the game. Thank you American College Cricket for everything!”
