What a beautiful position to I’m in !
Not only am I ( Lloyd ) involved with Cricket…..now I have an excuse to watch every college football game ! After all ,I must do research for this weekly feature in which we will follow the fortunes of our American College Cricket schools’ football teams.
The first week of the 2010 season our schools won 13, and only lost 2 ! It already looks to me as if Colleges with cricket clubs do better at football.

Danny Tomes (Wooster) ,who played in the 2010 American College Cricket Championship, is a former football player. He assessed the upcoming season :

A few teams to watch for this year:

Send in photos of yourselves at your college football games, your cheerleaders, your star players and fellow fans at the games.
Alabama, the defending national champion. They return last years Heisman trophy winner, RB Mark Ingram (who I played against in high school). They do have a tough schedule. They are in the SEC which produced the last 3 national champions.

Michigan- won’t be national champions, but they could crack the top 20 this year, which would be huge for that team. It is the third year for their head coach, RIch Rodriguez. The players he recruited and the offense he wanted to incorporate are finally to a point where he can succeed.

Oregon has a very strong team and I bet they will win the Pac 10 and play in the Rose Bowl. They have a lot of starters returning and found a great QB to replace last years’.

Iowa is a team to watch for. They play all of the best Big 10 teams at home, which is a huge advantage. I would watch for them to be able to run the Big 10 and possibly beat out Ohio State, which is a far shot.

Miami (FL) has a great team, but play a super tough schedule!! “

Ohio State is also looking to make a run for a national championship. They have Terrell Prior at QB who is a potential Heisman winner. Their first big test will come this weekend against UMiami (FL), who looked excellent in their first week.

Boise State went 14-0 last year and are returning 20 starters. However, they play in a VERY week conference and have a tough time getting voted in. They beat Virginia Tech tonight (who is ranked #10) and is the best team they will play all season.
