Top 10 Tests Run Scorers All-time – Shiv Chanderpaul sweeps in!

West Indies and Guyana great Shiv Chanderpaul is now # 10 on the List of All-Time run scorers in Test history.

Chanderpaul passed Graham Gooch when he scored another masterful innings, 71 * in the 3 rd Test against South Africa before he ran out of partners.

Chanderpaul now has more scores,19,  in the 70’s than any other batsman in Test history. He also has the most “not outs” between 70 and 99 (8) of any batsman in Test history !

Whilst Chanderpaul had a difficult time converting 50’s to centuries in his early years in Test cricket he has been phenomenal in recent years : in his first 50 Tests he scored 2 centuries, whilst in the past 76 Tests has scored 20 !

In 2008 and 2009 he was Bradman like, averaging over 100 runs in Tests.

On a West Indies team that has been far from its best Chanderpaul has shouldered the batting, and has often run out of partners otherwise his centuries’ tally would be higher.

Shiv Chanderpaul also has the 4th Fastest Test hundred in cricket history – in 69 balls.

Shiv Chanderpaul endorses and supports American College Cricket and the American College Cricket Spring Break Championship is played for the “Chanderpaul Trophy” .
